ONE Campaign, the advocacy group that primarily works on poverty, is trying to create the world’s longest video in the cause of girls’ education, which is, judged by impact, possibly the world’s best investment. The video petition, if it succeeds, could eventually be five years long. Celebrities including Malala Yousafzai and Charlize Theron have already signed on. Is girls’ education truly the world’s best investment? Education in general for boys and girls has a big impact, but “it is girls' education that produces multifaceted gains,” the authors noted, also pointing out that girls face particularly terrible barriers to education.
