But he reportedly said the freak accident was an inspiration, has given him a second chance at life and 'probably the best thing that's ever happened to him'. Maes was launched forward and his leg was caught in the turret gear - but his concerns remained with his team. "I pushed and pulled at my leg as hard as I could to get loose and felt a sharp tear," Maes told the Daily Mail. "I thought I had dislodged my leg, but when I moved away, my leg was completely gone."
