Southland bowlers Sarah Scott, Bronwyn Stevens and Sheldon Bagrie-Howley have been selected for Bowls New Zealand's High Performance Squad. Three Southland bowlers are now in the New Zealand High Performance Squad, from which Commonwealth Games representatives will be selected. “It's means a lot to me to take another step up ... with only one step to go to that Commonwealth Games goal,” Bagrie-Howley, of Gore, said. Some high performance training camps would concentrate on adapting to the much-slower English greens, Bronwyn Stevens, of Otapiri, said. In September a North Island versus South Island match, made up of the high performance squad, will be played indoors in Dunedin.
