Peter and Cheryl Noble’s daughter, Tessa, married Lidetu Birru Gebre in Ethiopia on Saturday. Tessa Noble celebrated her nuptials this weekend some 13,000 kilometres away from her parents in Invercargill. She lives in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and her parents Cheryl and Peter Noble eagerly waited to watch the ceremony, but a bad internet connection wrecked that. Cheryl said whenever she had voiced concerns about her daughter’s safety, Tessa quickly assured her she was safe and rarely alone. The Noble’s hope to see Tessa and Lidetu somewhere in between the two countries when international borders open.
