The dream for Southlanders to swim safely in local spots during summer may soon be a reality thanks to a $700 million national funding boost. The Action for Healthy Waterways Package, announced by the Government on Thursday, will create new jobs and benefit the value of New Zealand's agriculture export and tourism offerings, as well as cleaning up waterways. Clean water and sustainable farming is entwined with the economic success of the sector, it isn’t one or the other." Supplied Labour MP Dr Liz Craig welcomed the funding to clean up waterways.
