(Photo by Dave J Hogan/Getty Images) Dave J Hogan/Getty ImagesThe Spice Girls are back on tour, and their brand of girl power is setting some records that defy the received wisdom of the music business. So The Spice Girls started their 2019 tour in front of 70,000 people at Croke Park, Dublin, Ireland, on Friday, May 24, without Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice. Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Horner (Geri Halliwell, Ginger Spice) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) are touring Britain and Ireland. The Dublin gig was the first Spice Girls concert in seven years: they last performed at the closing ceremony of London Olympics in 2012. The Spice Girls’ previous tours include Spiceworld (1998), which grossed more than $60 million, the short European-only Christmas In Spiceworld (1999) and The Return Of The Spice Girls in 2007 to 2008.
