BANGKOK: Malaysia’s newly appointed Youth and Sports Minister Dr Taufiq Johari wasted no time making his presence felt as he turned up at the Thailand SEA Games on Friday (Dec 19). Taufiq expressed his delight with the Malaysian contingent’s performances and congratulated the team on surpassing the 50-gold milestone at the Games. Malaysia also exceeded their 200-medal target on the same day Taufiq officially took office on Thursday. “I’m proud of the team’s achievements and hope we can go on to achieve even more,” said Taufiq. “We have passed our 200-medal target, which is encouraging.
