The Squamish Nation community is mourning the death of a 21-year-old man who was killed in a collision on Forbes Avenue in North Vancouver. The incident occurred at 5:29 a.m. at Forbes Avenue and West 1st Street as the young man was crossing Forbes Avenue at 1st Street, near Eslha7an, when he was struck by a car. In response to the tragedy, Squamish Nation has mobilized additional resources to extend support during this challenging time. The North Vancouver Youth Centre will remain open until 9 p.m. throughout the weekend, and a dedicated Child and youth Worker will be available on-site for assistance. Meanwhile, North Vancouver RCMP and ICARS continue to investigate the collision.
