St Hilda's kids enjoy Lough Ree Access for All boat tripChildren from St Hilda's had an exciting day out on Friday, June 16 as they enjoyed a boat trip around Lough Ree. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), in partnership with Inlands Waterway Association of Ireland (IWAI) organised for 60 children from St Hilda's to travel on the 'Lough Ree Access for All' boat, a purpose-built boat that allows for wheelchair access. The starting point was the Lough Ree RNLI Lifeboat Station at Coosan Point, where the kids also got a tour of the station. They learned all about the equipment and gear that is used to keep people safe on the water. The main boat trip took 20 minutes, travelling around the beautiful waters of Lough Ree.
