MANILA, Philippines — Prominent cockers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao once again vie in the keenly awaited NCA World Derby that gets underway Tuesday at the Henares Multi-Purpose Bldg. Considered the Olympics of cockfights, this NCA event is hosted by Gov. Ito Henares, Richard Perez, Eric dela Rosa, and the Firefly Group, commencing with the four-cock preliminaries followed by the five-cock event on Thursday. The NCA, strictly enforcing the policy of sportsmanship, honesty and transparency, is an organization that also runs scholarship program for deserving students.
