Standards for electric vehicles in the makinghome/Business/Top Business/Standards for electric vehicles in the makingThe government and the private sector are crafting the complete set of standards for electric vehicles (EVs) in the country, the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) said. To be covered by the standards are parts, components, testing parameters and procedures and safety features, EVAP chairman Rommel Juan said on Tuesday in a briefing in Makati. Juan said EVAP is working with the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) for the job. We have to study the local conditions, how do we use our vehicles, what are the resources available and who are the users of the electric vehicles,” Juan said. To promote the use of EVs, EVAP said it will hold the 7th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit on July 17-18, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
