Scott Wedgewood started his seventh game with the Stars since arriving in Dallas at the trade deadline from Arizona, and perhaps it was his last start of the season. The Stars only have one more game in the regular season, on Friday night against Anaheim before opening the playoffs next week. Jake Oettinger started the last three games and is the likely Game 1 starter, even if Wedgewood has been impressive since coming to Dallas. The initial deal was for a 2023 fourth-round pick that became a third if Dallas made the playoffs this season. Barrett Hayton’s 5-on-3 power play goal came after “a completely unnecessary penalty when we’re killing a penalty” by Ryan Suter.
