Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal -File photoDHAKA, April 08, 2026 (BSS) - Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal today said the state will file an appeal against the High Court (HC) verdict directing the establishment of a separate secretariat for the Supreme Court (SC). The Attorney General further said the effectiveness of the High Court verdict would ultimately depend on the final decision of the Appellate Division. He also said discussions had already been held with the government, and authorities would wait for the Supreme Court's final verdict on the matter. The court also directed the establishment of an independent and separate secretariat for the Supreme Court within three months. The 185-page full text of the judgment was published on the Supreme Court website on April 7.
