The latest statistics from the National Transport and Safety Authority shows that 2,607 people have been killed in road accidents in the country over last 11 months. This is a worrying trend and things are set to get even worse as we usher in the festive season. Around this time, drivers break all the transport rules in an effort to make a kill as many people are desperately seeking transport to various destinations. Speeding, reckless driving, overloading, careless driving as well as drunk driving have characterised our roads during Christmas festivities and as a result, we end up losing lives. Any driver breaking traffic rules must be charged in court.
