The 21-year-old joined Newcastle on loan at the start of February and impressed during his short stint at St James’ Park with eight goals in 14 appearances. Willock has returned to pre-season training with Arsenal and played in the 2-2 draw with Rangers on Saturday. But Bruce remains hopeful that Newcastle can reach a new agreement with the Gunners for the midfielder. ‘And until Arsenal make a decision, a bit like all the big clubs, they have a look over pre-season, we’ll keep monitoring and badgering away.
