Billy Gilmour could return to former club Rangers (Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty Images)Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen on signing Chelsea wonderkid Billy Gilmour and feels he can persuade the Scot to return to Ibrox on loan next term. Gilmour, 20, moved south of the border in 2017 for a fee of around £500,000, which was a compensation package owed to Rangers for producing the Scottish playmaker. Gilmour is a boyhood Rangers supporter and would be a certainty to start for Gerrard, who guided the Gers to the title last term. Chelsea would rather Gilmour stayed in the Premier League to gain more experience of the division but they will liaise with the 20-year-old over his wishes. The Blues view Gilmour as a long-term replacement for Italy international Jorginho but Tuchel doesn’t feel the Scot is ready to be a first-team regular.
