The Met Office has issued a rare 'take action' red weather warning as Storm Babet makes its way toward the country. The red warning states there will be "exceptional" rainfall over Angus and Aberdeenshire between 6pm on Thursday and noon on Friday. Power services will likely be cut off with heavy rain also causing dangerous driving conditions. A new amber warning was also issued for wind. Very strong southeasterly winds are likely to accompany heavy rainfall which may exacerbate impacts."
