However a new “conduit” is needed between the terminal and platform – this will carry a combined electric and fibre-optic cable. “Following this, a cable-laying vessel will be used to connect the cable from the beach area to the New Douglas Offshore CCS Platform. On the beach, the conduit will be covered by sand, and any remaining equipment will be retrieved.
