THE article by Ivan Loh, “New love for Concubine Lane” (The Star, Sept 16), reminds me of my childhood days in the Old Town. Very often, on the instruction of my mother, I had to go to Concubine Lane to find my father. Concubine Lane at that time had nothing attractive. Now, as a senior citizen, I still frequent the various restaurants near the Concubine Lane with my wife. Once she argued with me as her colleagues accidentally saw me walking somewhere near Concubine Lane with another girlfriend (just a girl, who was a friend too).
