KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Youth and Sports Ministry is expected to assist strongwoman Joyce Heng Shu Xia to enable her to compete in the “Static Monsters” world championship in Gold Coast, Australia in June. Heng is the sole Asian strongwoman representative in the top 10 of the women’s open category. The Star ran an article about the financial challenges faced by the 32-year-old former bodybuilder when travelling for domestic and international strongwoman competitions, as the winnings were not sufficient to cover her expenses. "I also would use my capacity, either providing some funding assistance for her or whatever, to help her participate in national and international strongwoman competitions," he said in a written text reply. She made the cut for the Static Monsters world championship finals to be held in June in Australia.
