As captain of the Canadiens, Max Pacioretty spent time trying to convince good friend Paul Stastny to sign with Montreal when he became a free agent this summer. Pacioretty is a good person and now he and Stastny will be teammates — and probably linemates — with the Vegas Golden Knights. The Canadiens traded Pacioretty to the Golden Knights on Monday, while Stastny signed with Vegas as a free agent on July 1. That being said, I have nothing but respect for the Montreal Canadiens.
