The training course has been organised by the Department of Women's Affairs and Family Development in partnership with the NLA, whose committee chairperson on women’s affairs, Suwannee Siriwetchapan, has presided over the first few days this week. Suwannee said that domestic violence was on the rise and that most of those who had abused their own family members had once been the victims of such abuse themselves. She also added that the alcohol and illicit drug abuse also contributed.
