They first encountered the street children on their way from a training session, along University way. The JKUAT Sparrows, a team of American football players from the university’s Juja campus recently held an event at the Nairobi University grounds where they trained street children to play the game. But for all their accomplishments in bringing the sport to the country, they are proudest of their efforts to engage the street children they meet in town. They now have their own training grounds at the University, where they hold regular training sessions led by their coach Tedd Dunde. This culminated in the event held at the University of Nairobi.
