I REFER to the report about Jocelyn Yow, “Malaysian-Vietnamese named mayor of California city” (Sunday Star, Dec 13). I am amazed at her achievements and would like to share my opinion as a young person (12 years old) on how I view her success. Although she is American, I think Jocelyn is a good example for young Malaysians like me. She has made our country proud by being the youngest mayor of colour (Asian American) in California. My dream is to be able to perform in a concert to raise funds for people who are in need.
