Hilary MantelJaap Robben’s Summer Brother, longlisted for the International Booker, has a disabled child at its centre and squares up to dangerous subjects. When her latest, Invisible Girl, finally lands on the doormat, I’ll lie about all day reading and forget all my woes. My other great love these days is for Carlo Rovelli, who is often called the poet of physics.
