Former Prime Minister and incumbent United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe last Wednesday (23) surprised many by visiting the Abhayarama Temple in Narahenpita and meeting with Chief Incumbent Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thera, after attending his first parliamentary session after returning to Parliament as a National List MP. Ananda Thera also played a key role in ensuring SLPP’s victory at the 2019 presidential election and 2020 general election. After visiting the temple, Wickremesinghe engaged in religious observances before receiving blessings from Ven. Ananda Thera.
