The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition by a Congress activist seeking a stay on the release of a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the Election Commission can look into the matter. “It will be premature for this court to decide since the film is yet to be certified. The top court also observed verbally that too much of its time is being wasted on a non-issue. The Congress and the Left have complained to the Election Commission against the release of the film saying it violates the model code of conduct. The seven-phase Lok Sabha election will begin on April 11 and continue till May 19.
