The Marshall Project began with 26 employees; it now has 38, with 26 in the newsroom. “We’ve reached the point where we don’t think of ourselves quite as much as a start-up,” Mr. Keller said in an interview. At The Marshall Project, she said, she plans to make diversity a priority in recruiting.
