EDMONTON — A robbery suspect was shot dead — and another is on the run — after ambushing two armoured truck guards outside a southeast Edmonton bank just after midnight Friday, say police. At the scene of alleged shooting of a robbery suspect by an armed security guard. The Garda World security truck was still running near the west doors of the TD branch while forensic investigators worked nearby in the parking lot. Police say it’s alleged that two robbery suspects approached the Garda World armoured truck guards, pepper sprayed them and demanded cash before one of the guards opened fire, killing one man while the other ran from the scene. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the second suspect, or the case in general, is asked to contact police.
