Police were called to a farm near Timaru after a man was shot on Sunday morning. A man allegedly fled the scene of a burglary on a tractor with five stolen firearms before he was shot during a confrontation with the owner of another property he had just broken into. Stuff understands the 22-year-old allegedly burgled at least one other property on Waipopo Rd before he was shot. It is understood he allegedly broke into that property through a window and stole five firearms, including a combination of rifles and shotguns. Clarke, who remains in Christchurch Hospital, has been remanded in custody by consent charged with aggravated burglary and burglary.
