The gap between the minimum and maximum temperatures sharply reduced due to asharp fall in the maximum temperatures by six to eight degrees Celsiuscausing the bone-chilling cold today. The elderly people, women and babies are the worst sufferers, especially inrural and riverine char areas, due to the sweeping bone-chilling cold in thesub-Himalayan northern region. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangpur Meteorological Office Meteorologist MdMostafizar Rahman said the minimum temperatures remained mostly unchangedwith a little rise at places while maximum temperatures marked sharp falls inthe region today. The minimum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at 9 am todayagainst yesterday's 11.2 degrees and maximum of 17.5 degrees againstyesterday's 22.4 degrees Celsius at Rangpur city.
