Parents from Hamilton's Syrian refugee community are fighting to save Hess Street Public School from closure. Hess Street Public School is one of nine schools being reviewed by Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. According to her, the closure of Hess Street school would have a "domino effect on everything in the long-run," for these families. 'Communities deserve a lot better'Todd White, chair of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, says trustees will be "seeking better solutions" for Hess Street Public School. In this time, parents from Hess Street Public School's Syrian refugee community are making their voices heard.
