Addressing his maiden public meeting in Mahabubnagar (Telangana) on Wednesday, after taking charge as party president, to galvanise the cadre for the municipal polls, Mr. Nabin charged that the Congress government is practising “appeasement politics”. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks has exposed the political motives behind trying to please a certain section of population, he said. Earlier, the BJP president was welcomed with much fanfare by party leaders and workers at the Shamshabad airport on Wednesday. Mr. Nabin urged party workers to reach out to every voter and explain the government’s failure in fulfilling promises such as financial assistance for women, support for farm labourers, loan waivers, and other commitments. Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao condemned the “misleading and provocative” statements of PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud that the BJP would provoke people in the name of religion during the polls.
