The Yankees have clinched a playoff berth, but they haven't clinched a home playoff game, yet. You probably remember that just over a week ago, at Yankee Stadium, the Red Sox clinched the American League Eastern Division title. The Red Sox will not be playing all of their regulars, starting with tonight's pitcher Brain Johnson. The Yankees, especially their power hitters, have a pretty strong incentive to get a home playoff game against Oakland. Their bigger goals include winning a division playoff series, which would come against the Red Sox.
