As a result, since November, more than 54 per cent of commercial vehicles entering Delhi were forced to stop at the border and made to return for flouting norms. As per Delhi Traffic Police data, since November 1, as many as 28,592 commercial vehicles were checked at the border areas of Delhi. "If the neighbouring state police start keeping a check on vehicles entering Delhi, it would be easy for Delhi Police to check more vehicles in the city. Dependra Pathak, special commissioner, traffic, said, "Special drives have been launched to continue checking vehicles, especially those causing pollution."
