Taiwanese cybercrime group busted in BoracayIloilo City — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has stumbled over a Taiwanese cybercrime group that might be linked to the drug trade on the world-class resort island of Boracay in Malay town, Aklan. Joint operatives of the Malay MPS, the Boracay Police, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team swooped down on the villa on suspicions the Taiwanese were operating a drug lab. Salvo said they were still investigating what exact type of cybercrime the 25 Taiwanese nationals were engaged in. The a team from the PNP Crime Anti-Cybercrime Group in Camp Crame, Quezon City is going to Boracay to conduct further investigation. Senior Inspector Jess Baylon, Boracay chief of police, said an undercover cop originally was able to buy “shabu” (crystal meth) from one of the Taiwanese, which set off the raid.
