TKTDQ 8.30% agreed to pay a $650 million civil penalty to end an investigation by the attorneys general of 44 U.S. states into whether the parts supplier concealed problems with rupture-prone air bags, the latest legal sanction in the safety crisis that led to the largest automotive recall in U.S. history. Takata’s U.S. business agreed to settle the joint investigation being conducted by the states and the District of Columbia, according to law-enforcement officials. A Takata spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
