With tomatoes selling for as high as Rs 120 per kilo, tomato loans do not seem like a far reality. After State Bank of Tomatoes opened in Lucknow, more such banks could open soon, with prices to remain this high till August end. For the time being, Lucknow residents can obtain interest on deposits at the Congress' State Bank of Tomato, and take the vegetables out on loan, just like money in an actual bank.
