Stalin on Friday (February 6, 2026), via video conference from the Secretariat in Chennai, inaugurated upgraded district headquarters hospital buildings, additional buildings for hospitals, Samathuvapurams, and various office buildings across the State. despite State ranking 2nd on economic front: CM StalinThe upgraded district headquarters hospital buildings include those at Jayankondam, Mayiladuthurai, Aruppukottai, Kulithalai, and Kangayam, and an upgraded hospital at Rajapalayam, a mother and child welfare block at Thanjavur, and a drinking water supply scheme at Kallakurichi Government Medical College Hospital. Additional buildings for government hospitals were inaugurated at Kuthalam, Jallipatti, Pattukkottai, Cumbum, Periyakulam, Uthamapalayam, Veppur, Vridhachalam, Panruti, Gummidipoondi, Krishnapuram, Musiri, and Alangulam. The Chief Minister also inaugurated buildings constructed at a cost of ₹289.38 crore under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. Mr. Stalin also inaugurated 9,696 Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) tenements built at a cost of ₹1,238 crore under the Housing and Urban Development Department.
