Tanzanian tycoon Ali Mufuruki dies in South AfricaOne of Africa’s most renowned business leaders, Ali Mufuruki (pictured), is dead. Mr Mufuruki, who founded CEO Roundtable of Tanzania (CEOrt) and Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI) East Africa, died on Saturday night. He was evacuated to South Africa on Saturday afternoon. Mufuruki was the founder of Infotech Investment Group, ALI East Africa, board chairman of Vodacom Tanzania and Wananchi Group Holdings, a trustee of the Mandela Institute for Development Studies and co-author of the book Tanzania’s Industrialisation Journey, 2016-2056.
