The US president is due to visit Ireland although no date has been set KEVIN DIETSCH/ALAMYLeo Varadkar has rejected calls to withdraw an invitation to Donald Trump to visit Ireland. Paul Murphy, the Solidarity TD, and Richard Boyd Barrett, of People Before Profit, told the taoiseach that he should be criticising the US president over his policies instead of issuing invitations to him. “Trump is racist, sexist and dangerous. Do you agree?” Mr Murphy asked Mr Varadkar during question time in the Dáil yesterday. Mr Boyd Barrett added: “Is there any red line over which this man crosses that you will say ‘that’s enough now, we are not inviting him to this country’?”The taoiseach said he disagreed with many of Mr Trump’s policies but refused to make any personal criticism of him.
