Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has postponed its program to visit northern districts on January 11 at the request of the Election Commission. The tour was set to include visits by the party’s newly appointed chairman, Tarique Rahman, to several districts. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir informed journalists of the decision on Friday night at the chairman’s office in Gulshan. Other members of the party’s Standing Committee were present during the announcement.
