Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has returned to Bangladesh after 17 years, landing at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday at 11:40am. Earlier, the plane carrying Tarique Rahman landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9:56am. At the airport, Tarique Rahman was welcomed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and Standing Committee members Salauddin Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Abbas, among others. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner BG-202 departed London’s Heathrow Airport at 6:15pm local time on Wednesday. He is accompanied by his wife, Dr Zobaida Rahman, and daughter, Barrister Zaima Rahman.
