Tarique says Bangladesh risks ‘hidden autocracy’ if unity falters

Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has expressed concerns that Bangladesh could face the rise of masked autocracy if everyone fails to remain united. He spoke during the bi-annual conference of the BNP's South Cumilla unit held at the Town Hall Ground on Saturday. Through united protests, we expelled them and ended the autocracy. BNP’s Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed also addressed the gathering, while Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu inaugurated the event. Salahuddin condemned those calling for an “Islamic box”, emphasising that Islam is not a political tool or quota system.
