Umar Muhammed, LafiaA 29-year-old primary schoolteacher of the Sudan United Mission Primary School in Agwatashi, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has been arrested for defiling a 15-year-old pupil. The suspect, Alaga Solomon, was said to have committed the offence on August 14, 2020. The victim reportedly said Solomon sent her to bring a broom from the classroom after the school hours. She told the police that the teacher followed and defiled her in the classroom. A source said Solomon, who is married with children, had in the past been reported to the council Chairman, Mr Muhammad Iyimoga-Oyigye, for similar acts.
