Desborough College hosted a ‘team building day’ for its 120 new Year 7 boys to foster relationships and encourage physical activity on Friday. It worked together with Ascot & Maidenhead School Sport Partnership, with a focus on promoting the importance of 60 active minutes every day for all students. The Desborough PE team and head of year, Paul Neale, worked with the Sports Partnership to create the Speed Stacking Festival, and a ‘high energy’ indoor sports hall athletics competition. Boys learned the basics of sport speed stacking and took part in a variety of other challenges. The event provided an additional opportunity for some senior students too; three different groups of young sports leaders (almost 50 boys) supported both events, with sixth form students taking on the roles of team managers for the athletics competition.
