Toronto police’s homicide unit has taken over the case as it has become the city’s 77th murder of the year. A boy in his late teens succumbed to his injuries in hospital after a shooting in Scarborough Friday evening. Police responded to a call at an address on Bellamy Rd, near Eglinton Ave., at 6:45 p.m. after five or six shots were reported. When they arrived, the boy was on the ground and police performed CPR. Paramedics came to the scene a minute later, and rushed the victim to a trauma centre.
