Sub-inspector Nayan Devnath of Mugda police station, investigation officer for the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) in Dhaka. Confirming the charge sheet, Sub-inspector Md Ashraful Alam, general recording officer (GRO) of CMM court told Dhaka Tribune, that the charge sheet was submitted against the accused under the Cruelty to Animals Act-1920 to be produced before the court on July 9 for the next course of action. “The names of 15 people were mentioned in the charge sheet as prosecution witnesses, including the complainant, in the case,” he added.
