Teenager accused of raping and sexually assaulting girl in Dublin park


A 17-year-old boy has gone on trial at the Central Criminal Court accused of raping and sexually assaulting a girl in a south Dublin park. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to one count of raping the girl and not guilty to one count of sexually assaulting her at a park in south Dublin on April 13th, 2019. “Sometime after 6pm on this evening, (the girl) met this boy (the accused) who was about the same age as herself,” Mr Orange said. “It’s anticipated that you will hear evidence that something happened between (them) about that time which went beyond kissing,” Mr Orange said. When questioned by gardaí, the boy denied meeting the girl and denied anything happened between them that night, the court heard.
