Teenager fatally stabbed in Manchester a day after murder convictions

Police said they did not yet have any evidence to suggest the stabbing was linked to the death of Abdulwahab Hafidah, whose killers were convicted at Preston crown court on Tuesday. Three other people also sustained stab wounds in the fight, Greater Manchester police (GMP) said. Supt Dave Pester, of GMP, said: “We completely understand that the community will be concerned after waking up and hearing this tragic news this morning. I want to make it clear, at this stage there isn’t any information to suggest this stabbing is linked to a murder trial which finished at Preston crown court yesterday. At a briefing with journalists on Tuesday, Pester described Moss Side as a “positive” community that was no longer plagued by gangs.
